2012 Ford escape Hybrid
Escape Hybrid is a full hybrid. It can start off from a complete stop and travel up to 44 mph on electricity alone, during light acceleration. No fuel is used. And even when the gasoline engine kicks in, it maintains an outstanding 34 mpg city rating, making it the most fuel-efficient SUV in America.
2012 Ford escape Hybrid
The driving experience is virtually identical to a conventional SUV. Escape Hybrid provides comfortable seating for up to five, a versatile cargo area and a variety of standard and optional features, including an available intelligent four-wheel-drive system for enhanced traction.
“The Escape Hybrid broke new ground with its combination of fuel economy and full SUV capability,” said Jason Sprawka, Ford Escape Hybrid marketing manager.
2012 Ford escape Hybrid
wolrdbestcars.blogspot.com recently listed the Ford Escape Hybrid as a class leader for best monthly fuel cost in the publication’s annual best and worst monthly fuel cost estimates analysis. The Escape Hybrid leads the pack for best monthly fuel costs, with consumers paying at least $100 less for fuel per month, compared with competing vehicles.
2012 Ford escape Hybrid
Additionally, CarGurus named Ford Escape Hybrid one of the best vehicles for hybrid investment. The site reported the Escape Hybrid is one of the few hybrid vehicles consumers can justify paying a premium for over the gas-only version, as the Escape Hybrid pays for its premium once gas prices and savings are factored in.

Quality
The Escape Hybrid Limited is packaged for environmentally conscious buyers who still want a full complement of accessories and equipment. Along with its gas counterpart, the Escape Hybrid Limited features 16-inch bright machined aluminum wheels and exterior chrome accents, a standard six-speaker audio system, chrome and ebony interior touches, and a luxury and convenience package that includes ambient lighting, heated front leather seating surfaces, a power moonroof, Reverse Sensing System, rear view camera and universal garage door opener.

Quality 2012 Ford Escape Headlining the array of comfort and convenience technologies is industry-exclusive MyKey®, which allows owners to program a “key limit” to certain vehicle functions to help promote safe driving habits. Available features include limiting vehicle top speed, speed alert chimes, earlier low fuel warning indicator and persistent Belt-Minder® alert.

Green
The standard innovative Earth-friendly cloth seat fabric in Escape XLT is made from 100 percent post-industrial materials – polyester fibers that would have ended up in landfills otherwise. Furthermore, the cushions use a bio-based polyurethane foam derived from the oils of various plant seeds such as soybeans. More than simply “green,” the durable, comfortable and stylish nature of the material also makes it a perfect fit for Escape.
The V6 engine is flex fuel-capable. A flex-fuel engine is designed to operate on standard unleaded gasoline or E85 alternative fuel. Such flexibility allows the vehicle owner to choose E85 fuel, which is a combination of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent conventional gasoline.
2012 Ford Escape
Safe
The 2012 Ford Escape employs an intelligent four-wheel-drive system that works automatically to help prevent wheel slippage. Unlike some competitors’ systems, which engage through a floor-mounted switch, the Escape system does not require any driver interaction.
The Escape system is transparent to the driver and always there when it’s needed, for wet or dry pavement, creating confidence and peace of mind. Because the system can transfer torque away from the front wheels, it helps reduce the type of understeer often associated with front-wheel-drive vehicles, providing improved vehicle control. When combined with traction control or the AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™) system, a high degree of torque can be sent to the wheel with the best traction, even if the other three wheels have no traction at all.
2012 Ford Escape
In 2010, Escape sales totaled 191,026, which is a 10 percent increase compared with the previous year. More than 1 million Escapes have been sold so far.
2012 Ford Escape
Ford Escape combines outstanding capability and performance with class-exclusive technology and features our competitors can’t match,” said Jason Sprawka, Escape marketing manager.
Standard on Escape is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine delivering fuel economy of 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
2012 Ford Escape
For performance-oriented customers, Escape offers a 240-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 engine mated to an efficient six-speed automatic transmission. This proven engine churns out strength and provides torque for responsive power, all while delivering outstanding fuel economy of 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway (front-wheel drive).

2012 Ford Fiesta

2012 Ford Fiesta
The 2012 Ford Fiesta – all-new for 2011 – continues as the no-compromise small car choice with class-leading fuel economy, distinctive design and strong driving dynamics.
 2012 Ford Fiesta
Fiesta offers class-exclusive technologies and first-to-market features such as hands-free SYNC® with voice-controlled Travel, Directions and Information and Pandora internet radio app. It also gets push-button start, six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission, and heated and leather-trimmed seats with fashionably contrasting piping.
“Fiesta has truly been a One Ford global success,” said Global B-Platform Chief Engineer Steve Pintar. “The car has met strong consumer demand in mature and emerging markets alike. In North America, Fiesta changed the game by upping the ante for small cars by offering drivers an unprecedented array of comfort, convenience and connectivity technologies.”
New for 2012
Fiesta enters the 2012 model year in North America with two new interior style packages, an expanded sport appearance package and the across-the-board addition of an integrated blind spot sideview mirror and driver’s seat armrest.
 2012 Ford Fiesta
Built for the road yet inspired by the runway, Fiesta adds fashionable interior style packages that include two-tone leather-trimmed seats with harmonizing door trim inserts, color-coordinated steering wheel and instrument panel trim, premium carpet floor mats with the Fiesta logo proudly embroidered in front and a leather-wrapped gearshift knob.
These packages are available on the range-topping SEL sedan and SES hatchback models in two distinctive color combinations. The Race Red package combines red and black leather-trimmed seating and door panels with red steering wheel and instrument panel trim. The Oxford White package mixes the timelessly classic tuxedo black and while color scheme with a similar layout. The result is a strikingly distinctive passenger cabin design with the luxury of leather-trimmed surfaces and high-quality appointments.
2012 Ford Fiesta
An expanded premium sport appearance option for Fiesta SES hatchback models also makes its debut for 2012. Specifying this option adds 16-inch polished alloy wheels and black headlamp surrounds, auxiliary LED lamp surrounds, lower grille surround, sideview mirrors, window surrounds and rear spoiler. These blacked-out accents and special sporty wheels contrast with the vibrant colors in the Fiesta palette, enhancing the distinctive kinetic design.
In addition, the premium sport appearance package adds a 4.25 to 1 final drive ratio on five-speed models, for enhanced off-the-line acceleration.
All 2012 Fiesta models now add integrated spotter mirrors into the sideview mirrors. These spotter panes are incorporated into the outboard edges of the side door-mounted mirrors to enhance driver visibility in potential blind spots.
2012 Ford Fiesta

Fiesta will continue to offer interior and exterior design packages to keep consumer offerings fresh and brimming with vibrant personality.
Quality
2012 Ford Fiesta quality is showcased by its distinctive kinetic design cues, an interior quietness that rivals larger cars and driver-engaging driving dynamics.
2012 Ford Fiesta is the initial North American representation of Ford’s signature kinetic design language – a new look evocative of motion and the experience of dynamic driving – used across the global Ford portfolio of smaller vehicles.
2012 Ford Fiesta

Employing elongated dragon’s eye headlamps sweeping gracefully into the muscular front fenders and hood, 2012 Ford Fiesta is sporty yet accessible and inviting. The kinetic theme continues in the interior design, with the instrument panel and center stack combining to provide visual identity and distinction.
2012 Ford Fiesta interior quietness is taken to a new level for the small car segment, aided in part by inclusion of a specially laminated windshield – a class-exclusive – that helps absorb and contain road and wind noise.
Powertrain noise is subdued and wind noise at speed is minimized by optimization of door seals. Special sound-absorbing padding behind the instrument panel and foam baffles inside the roof pillars help keep the 2012 Ford Fiesta cabin quiet and serene. Even the headliner material has been specified for its sound-deadening qualities.
  2012 Ford Fiesta

2012 Ford Fiesta offers superior driving dynamics with communicative electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), optimized dampers, bushings and springs to provide a comfortable ride – all balanced with enthusiast-pleasing handling characteristics.
Green
2012 Ford Fiesta is powered by an advanced 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 120 horsepower and 112 lb.-ft. of torque. This smooth, responsive yet economical engine can be mated to an available PowerShift six-speed automatic transmission. For buyers preferring the control of a stick shift and clutch pedal, a five-speed manual transmission is fitted as standard.
2012 Ford Fiesta’s four-cylinder engine is enhanced by the inclusion of twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT). This innovation helps the no-compromise 2012 Ford Fiesta generate additional power, increases fuel economy, and reduces part-throttle emissions by optimization of valve opening and closing overlap. Managing these events with influence from throttle position and vehicle speed helps the engine to breathe and perform at peak efficiency at all times.
2012 Ford Fiesta

The Ford PowerShift transmission – yet another 2012 Ford Fiesta class-exclusive – is a dual-clutch, direct-shift six-speed transmission that eliminates the need for a heavy torque convertor. This world-class gearbox provides quick shifts across six optimally spaced gears to deliver swift acceleration and low engine speeds while cruising. Reduced internal friction and weight help PowerShift to increase 2012 Ford Fiesta fuel economy, too.
For buyers placing top priority on fuel economy, 2012 Ford Fiesta SE sedans and hatchbacks can be specified with a Super Fuel Economy (SFE) package combining the PowerShift automatic transmission, a rear spoiler, side air deflectors, underbody shields, lower grille blockers, low-rolling-resistance tires and cruise control.
  2012 Ford Fiesta
2012 Ford Fiesta – a small car that is big on safety – features a class-leading array of seven airbags including a class-exclusive driver’s knee airbag, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), four-wheel anti-lock brakes and Ford’s acclaimed AdvanceTrac® with electronic stability control to help drivers keep the vehicle in control under a wide variety of dynamic driving conditions.
Like larger Ford vehicles, 2012 Ford Fiesta employs the Trinity front crash structure to help prevent occupant injuries in a frontal crash incident. The first element is the boron steel front beam to absorb initial crash force. Boron steel shotgun rails then transmit impact forces to the 2012 Ford Fiesta’s rigid roof structure. The third element is the decoupling engine cradle, shearing to drop the powertrain to help prevent intrusion into the passenger cabin under impact.

2012 Ford Flex

2012 Ford Flex
2012 Ford Flex Call it a full-size station wagon if you will -- though Ford would prefer not to, opting for a full-size crossover moniker instead -- the Flex effectively fills the hole left by the Freestar minivan in Ford's line-up.
Available in SE, SEL, Limited - and new for the latest model year, Titanium trim levels, this Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) is loaded with options for discerning buyers.

2012 Ford Flex
Powered by either Ford's award-wining (it was on Ward's 10 Best Engines list) 3.5-liter Duratec V6 engine making 262 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque, or an optional (on some trim levels) 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine with twin-turbochargers and direct injection, boosting power significantly to 355 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the EcoBoost gains a SelectShift function with paddle shifters.
2012 Ford Flex
This boldly-styled people-mover will feature a standard seating capacity of six, with an optional split bench seat in the second row upping that number to seven. The only transmission option for now is a six-speed auto, suggesting relaxed highway cruising and associated fuel economy.
Because of the car's mission in life, safety is a huge part of the equation too, as the Flex sports Ford's AdvanceTrac with RSC electronic stability program across the range, along with six airbags.
2012 Ford Flex
The options list is long, presumably to suit the varying needs of families, and is comprised of niceties such as an interior refrigerator, second-row footrests, Ford Sync in-car communications and entertainment system, cap-less fueling, a 2,300-song MP3 player, voice-activated DVD navigation system, ceiling-mounted CD/DVD player, programmable ambient interior lighting and a Multi-Panel Vista Roof.
2012 Ford Flex
The Flex SE is equipped with the usual creature comforts such as power accessories and A/C, while the SEL adds Dual-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control, 10-way power heated driver's seat and six-way power heated passenger seat, EasyFold 2nd row seats, a six-CD Sirius Satellite radio and a brighter exterior thanks to some chrome accents.
The previously range-topping Limited jazzes up the looks even more with larger, 19-inch polished wheels and even more chrome accents, heated and leather-trimmed seats in the first two rows, HID headlights and LED taillights, Ford's Sync Bluetooth- and digital audio device-interface system, and a Power Liftgate.
For those seeking nothing but the best wrapped in a sleek and stylish package, the newly added Flex Titanium is for you. This trim level adds to the Limited trim package with charcoal black leather-trimmed 1st and 2nd-row seats with Grey Alcantara Suede inserts. The steering wheel gets perforated leather with painted alloy metallic accents, as well as cruise and audio controls built-in.
2012 Ford Flex
The interior gets extra style with a circle check applique pattern on the dash and door inserts, along with illuminated scuff plats made of stainless steel. The outside of the Titanium gets a dose of black for the headlamps, tail lamps, mirror skull caps, roof and black chrome on the liftgate and grille. The Titanium rides on 20-inch polished aluminum wheels.

2012 Ford Focus

2012 Ford Focus
Ford today unveiled its next generation Ford Focus global platform. With the new Focus, Ford is hoping to seize more of compact car market (known as the “C segment” outside the U.S.) from competing models like the Honda Civic, Chevy Cobalt, and Toyota Corolla.
The foundation of the new platform is technological innovation. The new global platform Ford Focus will receive the company’s EcoBoost four-cylinder turbocharged direct injection (DI) engines. European customers will have the option of getting either a 1.6-liter EcoBoost gas engine or an improved Duratorq TDCi common-rail diesel engine. U.S. customers won’t get the diesel, but they will get a 2.0-liter EcoBoost gas engine that features DI and Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT). The new engines should provide a bit more horsepower (the 2.0-liter North American engine adds an extra 20 hp compared to its predecessor). They also should provide 10 to 20 percent gains in fuel economy (a bit over 10 percent, in the North American engine’s case).
 2012 Ford Focus
The North American Focus will also get Ford’s new dual-clutch six-speed Ford PowerShift automatic transmission. The new transmission offers additional fuel economy savings of about 9 percent. It replaces the manual parts — torque converters, planetary gears and oil pumps — found in standard automatics, with a more efficient system that electrically controls the clutch.
The new Focus also may be the first non-hybrid auto to get stop-start technology in the U.S., according to AutoBlog. This technology allows the vehicle to shut off the engine when stopped, saving fuel, particularly in urban settings. Ford is targeting a 40+ mpg fuel economy with the stock variant, similar to GM’s Chevy Cruze, a key competitor.
A new Electric Power Assist Steering (EPAS) system has also been added, which Ford says will offer “pure and precise responses at high speed.” The new car also gets a new Dynamic Cornering Control system, which Ford says will yield reduced understeer, improved traction and better turn-in. Together, Ford says these technologies make a vehicle that is both more fun to drive and safer.
Better materials also make the new vehicle safer. The new vehicle uses steel for 55 percent of the body shell and ultra-high strength and Boron steels in 26 percent of the vehicle’s structure. Those improvements pay off in cold hard numbers; the new Focus sports a 25 percent greater rigidity than the current North American Focus.
 2012 Ford Focus
The new Focus will also get Ford’s new MyFord Touch infotainment system. The new system, which we extensively covered at CES 2010, includes a WebKit browser, canned text messaging, voice-commanded climate controls, improved voice commands, smart phone application APIs (including for voice commands), and more.
Ford feels that its new Focus design is also very stylish. It calls the vehicle’s artistic direction “Kinetic Design”. Ford’s press release brags, “With its striking front end, sleek profile, dramatic rising beltline and athletic stance, the new Focus clearly telegraphs the rewarding driving experience that awaits customers when they take to the road.”

 2012 Ford Focus
The base variety of the new Focus will be offered in hatchback and sedan forms. It will be accompanied by the European C-Max and Grand C-Max which will be landing in the U.S. sometime in 2011 and fall under the Focus global design platform.
The next generation Ford Focus won’t go on sale until the 2012 model year (2011). Hybrid and battery electric variants should be coming in the 2013 model year (2012) — Ford has not committed to hard time frames for their launch. The electric variant is expected to get 80-100 miles on a charge. At a recent press event, DailyTech spoke with Ford executives, including CEO Alan Mullaly on their upcoming EV and the company’s desire to avoid the temperature-related problems of competitor GM’s 2011 Chevy Volt EV.
 2012 Ford Focus

To achieve that, Ford gave the sedan a more sophisticated, upscale and sporty look than the budget-minded model it replaced. The automaker also packed the sedan with available smart features and technologies such as active park assist, Sync, MyFord Touch, HD Radio with iTunes tagging, torque vectoring control, a rear-view camera and keyless intelligent access with push-button start. Ford hopes that technologies such as these will help buyers move from either larger and typically more equipped vehicles, or even luxury vehicles into the more economical and compact Focus sedan.
Inside the Focus, Ford has updated the materials and design language to provide a much more upscale feel and layout. Materials, although not all soft-touch, are certainly more finger-friendly than the outgoing model. Design language also appears to follow the trend of upcoming Ford products for the North American market – especially true in the dash with the future fleet-wide integration of MyFord
 2012 Ford Focus

Pricing structure
The 2012 Focus Sedan S starts at $16,270 plus a $775 destination charge. While one would think the base price would be higher than the outgoing model, it is actually a few hundred dollars lower - at least for the base S sedan.
The Focus Sedan's price is spot on with the competitive Chevrolet Cruze ($16,275) but $820 more than a Mazda Mazda3 or Toyota Corolla ($15,450) and $465 more than a Honda Civic ($15,805).
At first glance, the price premium might seem a bit surprising, but Ford is intent on taking its Focus a little more upmarket than the competition and justifies the price premium with additional content and strong driving dynamics.
 2012 Ford Focus
Like its Fiesta stablemate, the new Focus makes extensive use of high-strength, ultra high-strength and Boron steel for added rigidity and crash performance. Ford says that the torsional rigidity is increased by 25 percent compared to the outgoing model thanks to the stronger steel.
Ford also says that 55 percent of the body shell, and over 26 percent of the Focus’ structure is formed with ultra-high strength and Boron steel, helping to reduce weight and provide more safety over traditional steel.
 2012 Ford Focus
Ford stuck with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine for the all-new Focus, but the latest engine is vastly improved and features a combination of Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) and direct injection. Ford says these changes increase power over the previous 2.0-liter Duratec by more than 20 horsepower while providing more than a 10 percent gain in fuel economy.
Total horsepower is now rated at 160 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. This technology-packed powerplant comes mated either to a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed PowerShift automatic.
The PowerShift dry dual-clutch six-speed automatic marks the second application for Ford's newest transmission, following its introduction in the smaller Fiesta. This transmission can reduce fuel consumption by as much as 9 percent when compared to the outgoing four-speed automatic transmission.

2012 Ford Fusion

2012 Ford Fusion
For the 2010 model year onward, the Ford Fusion received a major overhaul that brought a new exterior, better engines and an expanded features list.
On the surface, the Fusion got new front- and rear-end styling -- enough of a facelift that, from most angles, it looks like a whole new model. The edgy grille continues Ford's "three-bar" chrome design cue in what's bound to be a polarizing expansion of the theme.

2012 Ford Fusion
Under its reshaped hood, the Fusion gets three powertrain options - replacing the outgoing two motor lineup. The top two models will be equipped with a 6F35 six-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift gate. The entry-level four-cylinder version will come standard with a six-speed manual.
2012 Ford Fusion
For this latest generation, the base four is upgraded to a 2.5-liter unit pumping out 175 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque with variable intake variable cam timing, new exhaust manifolds, and electronic throttle control. Ford says efficiency is up over 10 percent compared to the previous Fusion's four-cylinder, now rated at 23/33 city/highway mpg.
2012 Ford Fusion
The next step up is a modified 3.0-liter V6 that puts out 240 horsepower and 223 pound-feet of torque. A new air induction system and torque-actuated variable cam timing help boost power. The new cam design uses torsional energy instead of pressurized oil to phase the camshaft, which Ford says will helps save a bit of fuel, as well as improve response time.
2012 Ford Fusion
The 3.0 V6 is also E85-capable. Ford says fuel economy is up to 20 city, 28 highway on the front-wheel drive model.
New for the latest generation is a 3.5-liter V6 -- standard on the 'Sport' model. With 263 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque on tap, it is essentially the same V6 used in the Flex, Edge and a handful of other Ford vehicles.
2012 Ford Fusion
The 2.5- and 3.0-liter Fusions come with available electronic power steering. What's more, the 3.0 features an extra-aggressive deceleration fuel shutoff that Ford says will also come on 2.5-liter models eventually.
Pricing
The 2.5-liter Fusion S starts at $19,695, positioning it below the Chevrolet Malibu but above the Toyota Camry. The 'S' has basic features like air-conditioning, power windows, mirrors, and locks, capless refueling, traction control, ABS, and 16-inch wheels.
2012 Ford Fusion
The next level up is the $21,375 SE model, which has the same features as the S, but larger 17-inch wheels, a six-speaker stereo with Sirius Satellite Radio, and the choice of the larger 3.0-liter V6. Ford Sync 2.0 is also an option on the SE.
The $24,805 SEL model adds the Sync 2.0 as standard, the seven-color lighting system, leather seats and steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, automatic headlights, keyless entry, and, again, the option of the larger 3.0-liter motor. Other options include a reverse-sensing system, all-wheel-drive, GPS, and a Sony sound system.
2012 Ford Fusion
Lastly, the $26,655 Sport model has the 3.5-liter V6 as standard, red-, blue, or black-accented leather, chrome trimming inside, 18-inch wheels, dual exhaust, optional AWD, optional GPS, and the option of Sony audio.

2012 Ford Mustang
on one hand, the 2012 Ford Mustang is a capable, even sophisticated coupe or convertible with a big range of talents, including 31-mpg highway fuel economy. On the other hand, it's a tire-smoking pony car rechristened last year with new powertrains and given a jolt of throwback goodness for this model year with the return of the Boss.
2012 Ford Mustang

Mostly on the strength of the GT, the new Boss and the returning Shelby GT500, we're giving the Mustang a solid 8 out of 10 for its performance strengths, and even for its upscale luxury and tech features.

2012 Ford Mustang
Last year, Ford brought back the "5.0" Mustang, with that displacement netting it 412 horsepower in the Mustang GT. Base models gained a new corporate 3.7-liter V-6 with 305 horsepower. The GT is our clear winner: it's a torque-happy engine with good throttle response and a sharp attitude, something the old modular V-8 strained to deliver even while it turned out decently competitive numbers.

The convertible option makes the Mustang an especially appealing muscle car. It opens its fabric top quickly and tucks it out of sight, while it also leaves the 'Stang vulnerable to a little more body flex than you'll find on smaller two-seat convertibles. And Ford's learned the lessons of Scion, opening up the order sheet to custom-fitted Mustangs with all sorts of wheel-and-tire packages, decals, scoops and interior treatments. There's even SYNC Bluetooth control for infotainment and navigation, and Sony stereo systems.
